    More Or Less Done

    2010 - 03.25

Well I’ve managed to write most of my last report today and yesterday. Just a few hundred more words and I’m done. Looks like I’ll be able to relax most of Easter. Woop.

To celebrate I ordered myself Pokemon Soul Silver. I just need a second DS to transfer over some eggs so I can start the game with a team of pokemon I like.

Craig has helped me start on building my own website to act as a portfolio for my job applications. I still need to get round to buying the domain for the website. I need to ask Craig if any of the domain extras the site sells are needed/worth it; an email address, web hosting, SSL, InstantSite and Ecommerce? I’m also thinking of building a rig of a robotic arm and a head for facial animation to show off some rigging/animating skills. Something new and shiny for the portfolio.

I don’t think I’ve been up to much else of note since the last update, other than all those murders I did.

    I’m Having a Day Off

    2010 - 03.22

I can already hear Craig cursing my name.

Last night I decided to check over everything I need to do for uni work and found I only really need to do two things. The first is finishing off my project animation which is mostly done. I’d be doing it today but after yesterday I’m sick of hearing the sound of my own voice. The second thing I need to do is a 3500 word report for Games Dev. Since I managed to do my 7000 word project report in just over three weeks while working on other modules I can get this one done in a week if I tried. The rest of the work is just getting everything ready for hand in. I’m actually quite surprised at how organised I am. I think I’m going to do another picture or two for D&C to replace a few of the weaker pieces I have in there.

I think my next port of call is to make my own website to act as my portfolio and then update my CV. I think I’m going to go for “adventlife” as my website name, probably .co.uk or .com for the domain. I just hope people don’t think I’m religious because of the name :/

Also Cave Story Wii came out today…..in America! Not Europe…..yet. I’m crying on the inside, I really am.

That’s all for now, I’m going back to do something that isn’t working. Ahhhhhhhhhh, bliss.

    *Yawn*

    2010 - 03.15

    God I’m tired.

I think an update is in order. Guess what? I’ve been doing uni work, how unsurprising is that? I’ve “finished” my project report. Just need to put in references for where I found secondary pieces of audio once I’ve found them (wolf barks, wind, footsteps, stuff like that). Done more work in general for the other three modules, that’s including Games Dev which I’ve not done in a while. God our programmers have been useless, our ill team leader has done all the programming for them since they’re so useless.

I’ve been watching True Blood (four episodes so far) when I can grab the time to which hasn’t been often. I’m gonna try get some more tomorrow. Games wise I downloaded the two dlc stories for Resident Evil 5, both were good and one was damn hard. I also downloaded a game called Chime, it’s kinda hard to describe it other than calming music and swirly colours. Also Tetris like, kinda.

I also met Ruth and Gemma in town along with Gemmas baby niece who we looked after for the day. There was the odd moments when I pushed the pram around and it looked like I was a baby daddy. I kept expecting to bump into someone from school and they’d think I was a father. Luckily there wasn’t anyone, at least not that I saw.

This is all you’re getting because I’m bored of typing now.

    Birthday

    2010 - 03.07

Well, it’s been five days since I turned 21. Presents wise I got myself a fancy ass tablet and an even fancier ass pocket watch from my parents. True Blood series one from friends which I’ve started watching (two episodes in at this point and liking it, rednecks are funny) and some chocolate from Ruths parents. I also got a big chocolate cake. Me and my family went out for a nice meal the day before (Simons birthday) to celebrate and by family I mean no Jan, she was off visiting her brother down south.

I’ve cracking on with my uni work. Got the main chunk of animation for Advanced Animation done, 5600-odd words on my Project report done and almost done the project itself. Been doing D&C stuff with my tablet which I’m still playing around with.

Games wise I’ve been playing some games I downloaded from xbl on my 360. I got an indie game called Arkedo Series 003 Pixel! which was short, stylish and fun. I got Braid, a major indie game which is as great as people say it is. Platforming with time manipulation based puzzles and great art, genius. Third game I got was Castle Crashers, crazy side scrolling hack ‘n slash game with cartoon graphics. It’s a great game and I’m sure it’s better online. That will be another game to try online after I hand in my uni work and get gold membership.

I also went to see A Prophet (Un Prophete) and have lunch with Ruth yesterday. It’s a french film (subbed) about a young man serving out his three year prison sentence. It was really well shot, written and acted but it was a bit long at 2hrs 29mins. Legs were getting tired by the end, I heard a woman behind us complain to her husband that the film kept going on and on.

Well, that’s all I’ve been up to that I can remember right now. Everyone remember to update your blogs OFTEN (Ruth!)
