    Wedding

    2010 - 04.24

Well, Simon and Jan got married one week ago today. It was a fun day and I thank Ruth very much for accompanying me. Some of the photos of the wedding have surfaced on Jans facebook profile. I think we’re still waiting for quite a few of them, the official photographers ones included. They’d placed a number of disposable cameras on the tables at the reception for people to use with a little note asking people to take candid photos. Me and Ruth ended up taking photos of everything but the people there. They asked for candid and we gave them candid.

I got to see alot of my family members from my mams side of the family who I’ve not seen in ages. All of them asked the same questions “So what are you doing these days? You’re at uni aren’t you?” I got sick of giving the same answers over and over but it was good too see what my cousins are doing these days as well.

There was a bit of a weird moment in the church when the priests speech started with him talking about his favourite tv show, Wedding Disasters from Hell. He somehow managed to end up talking about a miracle Jesus performed. Funny guy the priest.

There was a bunch of other stuff that happened throughout the day but I’m too lazy to type it all out. The one other thing I will mention about the wedding is that there was this one guy who kept dancing  every couple of minutes. Me and Ruth called him the One Man Party. A few days after the wedding I was eating breakfast and noticed my mams camera on the table. I took a look to see what she’d taken after we’d left and there’s two videos on there of the One Man Party dancing away drunk with his ‘life partner’. I’ll show it to you guys when I can.

Other than the wedding I’ve not been doing much. Relaxing in my free time and playing games. I’ve gone gold membership on xbl for the year so I can play online, woop. I’ve also tried to fix a footer problem on my website using a fix Craig sent me a link to. The fix works…….if you look at the website on Internet Explorer, on Firefox it’s still bust (the banners also work using IE but those hyperlink boxes are back). Sometimes technology can be a complete pain in the ass.

    Getting Ready

    2010 - 04.12

For handing in uni work that is. That’s what I’ve been doing today. I headed into uni early this morning and did a hard days worth studenting.

Yesterday I’d written up a list of exactly what I needed to be handing in for my modules and today was getting them all together. I’ve managed to print off all the work, bind it, make copies on cds and I could have handed three of the modules in today. I didn’t because I wanted to run another check on it all at home before I hand it in tomorrow instead. The only module I won’t be handing in tomorrow is Games Dev as we’ll be doing it as a group. I’m just so glad I’m so close to being done.

I even gave myself a treat and bought a few games to celebrate. FF XIII, Mass Effect 2 and Bioshock 2 to be precise. I also got myself some more xbl points so I could download Battlefield 1943.

After handing in work tomorrow I’ll be kicking back and relaxing, at least until we hand in the Games Dev work. Bliss.

    Tell Me What You Think

The image below is a possible home page for my portfolio website, right click and select View Image to see it properly.

Like the title of this post says, let me know what you think.

    EDIT:

Here’s the idea for the pages:

    Alive Again

    2010 - 04.05

Well I’ve recovered and it’s been a few days.

I’ve not been doing much over the holidays. We all went out and saw Kick-Ass as you know, there was Simons stag do and the horrible day afterwards. Other than that I’ve been playing alot of Pokemon Soul Silver, a bit of sketching and Craig has helped me by my portfolio domain and move it to his server. It’s now there for me to start building.

Easter was yesterday, I hope everyone had a good one. I only got one egg this year. Curse getting older. At least it was a galaxy one.

I’ve also written up a list of exactly what I need to hand in for each module and how. When I get back to uni I have alot of printing off to do. I need to buy folders for hand ins too. I’m going to try and hand in my work either the monday or tuesday of next week when the holidays are over.

I’ve also just had a thought. Since I’m so clode to the end of uni I’m going to be buying an xbl gold membership subscription so I can play games online. I just remembered I have a 1 month free card and was wondering if I should use it now. Hmm……I need to get Saints Row 2 back off Simon. Soon.

The Morning After The Night Before

    2010 - 04.02

Last night was Simons stag do. Last night I thought it was great, I wondered why I don’t go out drinking more often. This morning I remembered why. I was grim death and was so for most of the day.

Me, my dad, his mate Bob (long time friend of family) and Bobs son Mark (also friend of family) all got a lift from my mam and was dropped off at Isaacs in middlesbrough. That was bar number 1. We waited there until Simon, two of his mates, my uncle Alex and cousin James and Dave (Jans dad) showed up. After a while we decided to move on to the next bar. We also found out Jim, Simons best man was working that night and wouldn’t finish until 11pm. We also found out he’s working the day of the wedding. Best best man ever.

I drank four vodka and cokes in Isaacs.

We all moved onto the next bar, the name of which escapes me. It’s one right near Yates’s. We sat and had a few in there. We sat by the windows and there was some drunk guy dancing away outside at the window. He’d been kicked out for being drunk. Mark got us all to chip in a pound each and he went outside and gave the guy £10. The guy licked the notes and stuck them to the window and started dancing HARD. I went over to the bar with Mark to finally buy a round in for people (I’d offered to earlier but people were kind and said they’d get it), instead of getting in a normal round Mark looked through the cocktails menu and got us a pitcher of…..something. Honestly, no one knows what he ordered, not even Mark. After a while in there Mark, Bob and Dave all went home as they had to work the today.

Two more vodka and cokes and a glass and a half of the cocktail in the mystery bar.

We then moved onto the Crown. We sat and drank a while and joked how the best man was missing everything. Then the bouncer came over and asked Simon to leave for being drunk. We all left the club after that, you can’t have a stag party without the stag. We found out this morning Simon had left his jacket there.  Simon was helped home by one of his mates and the second mate went home as well. Me, my dad, Alex and James all decided to go for “one” last drink. This was just after 11pm, when the best man had just finished work. He finished too late so he didn’t get to come drink.

Three more vodka and cokes in the Crown.

We tried Yates but a guy who worked there told us they’d stopped serving at 11pm. He also told us Walkabout would still be serving so off we went. The four of us sat and drank and laughed and so on for some time. We eventually decided it was time to go home.

Another two vodka and cokes and two weird shot things in tubes in Walkabout.

All four of us got a taxi back, dropping me and my dad off first. My cousin James was sick in the taxi as the driver took the turn off for Norton on the A19. James managed to get most of it out the door but we still had to pay the cleaning cost for it. Once dropped off me and dad went to the Chinese for some take out but it was closed for the night. At home I got a call from Jan saying Simon had passed out in their friends bathroom and she wanted mams work number so she could call her. Instead of giving it to her I told her to drag Simon somewhere comfy, give him two paracetamol, a drink of water and let him sleep it off. My mam thanked me this morning for not giving the number to her.

I took my own advice and had the paracetamol and water and headed off for bed. The pills and water didn’t agree with me and I had to take a detour to the bathroom to be sick. Then bed. Then sleep.

Today has been hell. Wake up, drink water, be sick bed. Rinse and repeat for a few hours. It wasn’t until 6:30pm I was able to eat anything and keep it down. Since then I’ve been feeling better and not the “better” I was feeling after each time of being sick. I mean really better. Still a bit off right now but not too bad. Tomorrow I should be all good again.

I don’t think I’ll be drinking at the wedding. At all. I’m on pure coke and lemonade that night, count on it.

PS. I also got ID checked four times.
